In Pandinus imperator (Emperor Scorpions), similar to all terrestrial arthropods, excretion and water balance are strongly related. The excretory system in Pandinus imperator relies on two pairs of Malpighian tubules that collect nitrogenous wastes from protein metaboliusm. These nitrogenous wastes enter the gut at the midgut-hundgut connection. The excretory wastes are then expelled through the anus along with feces. The Emperor Scorpion’s excretory system proves it with an efficient water conservation system, which allows it to survive in the desert.
