Niphates erecta (Lavender Rope Sponges), similar to all other members of the Porifera phylum do not have a distinct excretory system. Instead Niphates erecta depends on a water flow system to remove waste materials. During this process, the waste materials diffuse into cells as the water flows and archeocytes prevent the ostia from being blocked by moving materials pass the mesohyl and into the outgoing current.
